The inspiration for this project came from Mueller's previous work with Porsche as a commercial photographer and his passion for multiple exposure photography. The idea was to bring together the two extremes of the Northern Polar Region and the Arabian Desert in one picture, featuring the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo.
The unique properties of this artwork lie in its execution. Mueller first photographed the Taycan in the polar region, then placed it in the exact same position, with the same perspective and camera angle, in the desert. He then applied his multivision technique to create a seamless blend of the two images.
The realization of this design involved meticulous planning and execution. Mueller had to consider the position of the sun and the camera angle in both locations, and ensure that the car was positioned identically. The images were then fluidly built together to create the final artwork.
The project posed several challenges, including working in extreme weather conditions and dealing with fast sunsets and sunrises, particularly in the UAE desert. Mueller also had to protect his equipment from sand, dust, and snow, and ensure it could function at temperatures ranging from -30 degrees Celsius to +45 degrees Celsius.
In conclusion, "Drive2Extremes Multivision" is a testament to Mueller's innovative approach to photography and his ability to overcome technical and environmental challenges. This artwork not only showcases the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo in unique settings but also highlights the beauty and contrast of the polar and desert landscapes. The Silver A' Design Award it received is a well-deserved recognition of Mueller's artistic skill and technical expertise.
